>There are some of us who are unfortunately “cursed” by the bane of body odor. This neutralizes all the painstaking effort in looking our sweetest and having to see noses turn as soon as it gets a drift of the odor that disseminates from our underarms and elsewhere.

Yes, disgusting indeed.

But of course there are deterrents that can be easily applied such as anti-perspirants, deodorants, medicated bath soap, herbal treatments and so on. Most of these are applied externally onto the body odor locations and will last for as long as effective.

In Indonesia, I learned, there is a time proven plant that has served their women as a wonder anti-odor preventive. I have to underscore the word, PREVENTIVE. It is not an externally applied deterrent because it is consumed orally whenever taking one’s meal.

What is that?

Semanggi or also known as green claver and it grows wild in the open. Known not only for its effectiveness to rid a person of body odor, there are also other benefits from the leaves of this plant. Benefits such as::

a) lowering body heat
b) controlling high blood pressure
c) controlling Asthma
d) diffusing breathing difficulties
e) treating split hair ends
f) toothache
g) treating of pre menopause syndrome
h) and is also an effective treatment for osteoporosis

The leaves of the Semanggi plant is renowned for women’s beauty and health care because it contains isoflavone. Isoflavone is an active phytoestrogen energy source and it does the job as an antioxidant.

How is it consumed?

In Indonesia, the Simanggi leaves are served raw at meal times, often with a few slices of cucumber and raw cabbage as a side dish. The leaves are eaten just like how we would eat Salad in the West in between bites of rice and other food.
